IMarEST Cyprus celebrates its 25th anniversary during the Annual Dinner Dance

 

The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology, IMarEST, Cyprus Branch organized its Annual Dinner Dance on Saturday 27th of October at the Four Seasons Hotel in Limassol.

The event marked the 25th anniversary of IMarEST and was attended by more than 250 people.
The Welcome speech was delivered by the Branch Chairman, Mr. Russell Glyde, followed by the projection of the 25 Years movie.

Honoured Guest, the Shipping Deputy Minister to the President, Mrs. Natasa Pilides delivered a keynote address in which she conveyed her “warmest congratulations to IMarEST Cyprus for completing 25 years of success as the first professional institution that brings together marine engineers, scientists and technologists into one international multi-disciplinary professional body”. Mrs. Pilides stated that IMarEST was one of the first organizations she had the opportunity to meet after taking up the position of Shipping Deputy Minister, and she was deeply impressed by the level of professionalism, the true commitment of IMarEST to support lifelong learning and the excellent use of technology and state of the art tools in enabling professional development.

The Shipping Deputy Minister said that “IMarEST has a great role to play in promoting the scientific development and interdisciplinary understanding of marine engineering, marine science and marine technology among our professionals. We pledge our full support and readiness to cooperate with IMarEST in every possible way, with a view to advancing the knowledge and expertise of marine professionals across the international marine community”.

A flower arrangement was presented to the IMarEST Ladies by Mr. Terry Ryan & Mr. John Mealing, to thank them for their continuous support.

Grace & Speech was delivered by Mr. Ken Wiseman - Lay Chaplain and the dinner was opened at the sound of live music and dancing. An entertaining programme has stunned the audience, especially the talented dancing team and the amazing laser show.
